door hinges
OK... before I go whacking at this in frustration ..... is there a trick to the proper removal of door hinges? Or are they just held in place after removing the bolts by 45 years worth of grit and grime? I did't want to get too crazy with a pry bar before I ask the "pros"!!

Re: door hinges
You know they're each attached with THREE bolts, right?

Re: door hinges
Is there any adjustment needed to get the door to fit when re-attaching it? If so, any tips? I put my door back on after replacing the door seal and it's off a bit. Frustrating.

Re: door hinges
Virtually all adjustments are made where the hinge attaches to the door, not where it attaches to the cab. It's just a matter of slightly loosening the bolts, moving the door a little in the direction it needs to go and retightening...and then checking, re-doing, etc. It's tedious and frustrating at times...just trial and error will eventually get it there.
If you ever have to remove them again in the future, I'd suggest scribing a mark around the edge of the hinges first. That should get you really close.

Re: door hinges
Here is an article I found helpful. It explains doors, hoods and the different hinge types and how they affect adjustment, fenders etc.

Re: door hinges
at least I got the last part right... I marked it, measured it and photographed it to get as close as possible when it is ready to go back.... for those who are curious.... I am to the point the doors came off and are getting the steel patches I welded in completed, and making the doors clean and smooth, ready then to prime and paint!!
