Tire fitment
I am currently running a 4" suspension lift and 33's in my 71 f100 4x4. I was wanting to know if anyone had put 36" iroks in their 67-72 f100 4x4's and if so what combo of lift you used to give enough clearance for 36's without getting out the old sawzall. I was looking at the 6"suspension lift but then I do not want to deal with driveline issues. I was thinking of 4" suspension lift and 2"-3" body lift ...i dunno anyone have ideas????

With a body lift you will run into linkage issues and intermediat steering shaft issues as well.
Iroks won't save you gas.
The only drive line you will need to have fixed is the rear drive line. The front you can mod yourself from square tube. As lond as you don't run it at high speeds down the road. You can rock a square tube drive line without to much to worry. :twisted:

Yes, I am thinkin of throwin the small block idea out and keep on buildin her for trails and buyin a new truck to tow her with and do daily stuff with.I dunno 33's just seem to small, but it is functional....I do not think that 36's over 33's will gain me much more ground clearance. It is just a look thing.

I thought about the 36" Iroks for my yota that or the SSRs.
If your ford is going to be a trailer qween then do both front and rear drivelines with square tube.

No trialer queens here. I drive it to the trail ,on the trail , and home agian. I am gonna go with the 6" suspension lift and just get new drivelines from high angle. I may not need to change the front driveline since I have the high pinion front d44. but the back one already needs swapping.

on my 67 2wd with 4" lift I plan to run 38.5" ground hawgs, the reason Im getting 38.5 is that ground hawg tires are not true to size. The 38.5 turn out to be 35-36"x12.50. I am going to trim the fenders, and maybe just maybe get a 1/2"-1" body lift, so I can clear a shackle flip in the back without hitting the bed (when I get rid of my blocks), and So I dont have to trim the fenders as much.

its a picture of a square front drive shaft this guy made. its a small one in a big one so it can slide as the suspension goes up and down.broke_okie wrote:1970f250 I cannot get that link to work. What is it?

Are those balanced? I've never seen square drivelines.
