np435 2 wheel transmission

np435 2 wheel transmission
I have a np435 trans I pulled out of my truck. I pull the shifter out of the truck. I thought I had it in neutral but it was in gear I cant get the trans to shift into any of the gear now. any idea how I can get the trans to unlocked without pulling the top plate off?

probably got the shift forks all bound up. you can try pulling the stick again and making sure you got all the fork fingers lined up then try re-sticking the shifter back in. if that fails pull the top plate and make sure that no damage to the shift forks has accured. Welcome BTW from Santa Cruz!
