New owner of a 1965 F100

Post by minty65 »

Hi guys

I'm trying to identify what my truck originally was. She looks like she has gone through a restoration. My Vin is : F10BR67520B
W.B.- 129 Color-S Trans-B Cert.-150 H.P. 3600 71

I think she was originally a 6 banger but she currently has a 351. I can still see the decal on the air filter.Currently automatic trans with a column shifter. Appears to big a large pumpkin on her as well. Small block or Big block I'm not sure. She has a lot of pep and cant pass too many gas stations without needing a sip.

Thanks guys for any direction you can give me on this one.

Best,

Mark

Hi Guys I'm in So Cal. So figured out the motor is a 351 Windsor small block from a 1973 donor. The tag on the valve cover was still readable.

F10BR67520B

F10 = F100 2WD
B = 300 CID (inline 6-cylinder)
R = San Jose assembly plant
67520B = Sequential number

However, 1965 trucks had serial numbers between 580,001 - 713,000. I'm thinking that last digit ("B") was mis-read and is actually an eight ("8"), so it should read 675208, meaning your truck is number 675,208 to come off the San Jose assembly line in 1965.

Color - S = According to the '64-'72 Master Parts Catalog, the color code "S" was only used between 1970-1972. Are you sure that you read that one correctly?

Trans - B = 3-spd. Warner T85, T86 overdrive

Cert.-150 H.P. 3600 = 150 horsepower at 3600 RPM

17 - The dealership number for whom the truck was originally built. (I don't have that data, so I can't help you with that one.)

Since these forums are geared more towards the '67-'72 trucks, you might have better luck by checking out Slick60s.com
