I have a question about this method of rust removal.
http://www.fordification.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2391
I have a battery charger that will charge at 2 amps, 12 amps, or has a setting for 75 amps to use for starting an engine. It is a Schumacher battery charger, if that makes any difference. I can hear a very distinct hum when it is on the 75 amp setting.
Here is my question: Has anyone ever tried to remove rust with their battery charger cranked up that high? It really gets the water moving almost instantly, but I wonder if it would harm my charger? I haven't tried it for more than a few seconds. I don't want to damage anything, but that would sure speed up the process.

re: Rust removal question
It works fine using it at 12 amps, but I have a couple of parts that are pretty rusty, so I was wondering if cranking up the charger (which would definetly speed up the process) would damage anything.
Thanks for the reply.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

re: Rust removal question
I don't want to burn up the charger. I guess I'll just put a part in when I get home from work about 4:00 PM and take it out when I get home from work the next day.
