Tailgate help

Post by Flightman91 »

I'm sure this will sound very silly but, how do I remove my tailgate? Its a style side if that matters.

If you drop the tailgate you can see two bolts on each end of the tailgate on the side of the bed. There will be one above and one below the tailgate. Remove the two bolts on either end and lift up.

If you are talking about the limiter/struts that keep it from opening too far. Open the tailgate all of the way and pick up on the center joint while closing and you can slip it off of the tailgate post when it's about halfway closed.

After the above, it just slides off the pivots.
