Re: question on hood emblems
From the tech section:
There are two different styles of chrome hood letters. The 1967- 1969 style is smaller and has small ribs which run horizontally through each letter. The later style doesn't have the ribs and has a satin-like finish inside each letter. The '67-'69 style is pressed onto clips in the hood, whereas the '70-'72 style is held onto the hood with nuts from the backside.
In this photo, the '67-'69 style is on bottom and the '70-'72 version is shown on top. Because of the difference in size and mounting pin location, they are not interchangeable.

Yes I have seen that just wanted a second opinion because of the way the add is worded fits 70-79 models. Got me confused for a minute

Re: question on hood emblems
Ask the seller if there are any part numbers on the back of the letters.

Re: question on hood emblems
The F-O-R-D emblems in that listing are '70-'72 so they should fit just fine.

Re: question on hood emblems
I don't mean to hijack but I have a '68 truck and it has the smooth letters that are 70'-72' style. I guess someone changed out a hood then. That also explains the blue paint under the peeling green.

Re: question on hood emblems
Yep, must have changed the hood. My 68 has the lower kind with the ridges.
The top for 70-72 look a lot like the ones on my 74 dentside.
