Tucson Gold Newbie, could use a favor.

Post by Ktmracer »

Hello Ford guys. Wow, this site is amazing! Thanks to all the contributors, I have already enjoyed several hours over the last couple of weeks.

I just picked up this two owner rust free 70 Swb. Pinto Yellow, aka. I suspect it has no factory options, except maybe full gauges. It has parchment interior, and it runs real good. It is original paint except for the hood has fresher paint. San Jose built and black plates still. I drove it to work a couple times already and the truck makes friends fast.

My dad bought a new red Ranger lwb in 69, I was about 8. It was a sharp truck with several options and all that trim! He put on wide chrome reverse wheels and a white tonneau back in the day, and he always had a good exhaust on it. The truck was in the family for a long time, and it was what I learned to drive in. Sadly, my dad finally let it go about 1985, after letting our grandfather use it for a while. Good memories for sure.

My dad has given me 2 awesome old cars in recent years, so I plan on giving him this truck for as long as he wants it. I can tell he is getting warmed up to this idea. Nostalgia. But first, I want to get it as minty as possible, by freshening up a lot of little things like the seat, exhaust, adding carpet, rear contour bumper, maybe AC, and many dried up lenses and rubbers, etc. And I need to debug gauges, wipers, horn. LMC, Mac, and Dennis Carpenter here I go.

My favor is; does any one have the coupon codes that can be used on these catalog websites for my first orders? Maybe there is a thread for such things?

PS does any one want a vintage camper shell project? Free.

Be sure and check out the vendor links too http://www.fordification.com/links.htm I've bought from Green Sales and Miller Obsolete and they both have reasonable prices. I've gotten some excellent deals on Ebay. One of my best sources of parts though has been right here in Parts Wanted and Parts for Sale/Trade.
