So I went to the local Sheriff's auction to bid on an F150 that I wanted for the farm. Another truck in the auction was this forlorn 1969 non-running F100. On a whim I put in an absurdly low bid, just in case no one wanted her and if that were the case to save her from the crusher. Sorry guys, I bid less than my monthly electric bill. Of course I did not win the F150 I went to bid on, but the Sheriff does let me know I had the winning bid for the F100. You have got to be kidding, but nope, I won the auction and now have all the paperwork to go get the title for her.
She was non-running and as is, so I had her towed using my roadside assistance. Wife said give the roadside assistance a call cause I didn't think they would tow a non-running truck I just bought. But it turns out, my roadside covers anything I own and since it wouldn't start, they would tow it. Had to do the head down, "Yes honey you were right" routine, but hey she was right and she does put up with me. Score another one for her.
Got the 69 home and charged up the old Caterpillar(yes Caterpillar) battery that was in her. It won't take a full charge, so it will have to be replaced soon, but it took enough charge to turn the engine. I could see that there wasn't any gas coming into the fuel filter. Electric fuel pump that I could hear trying, but no gas. Picked up a new fuel filter and miscellaneous clamps, etc.. Took the fuel line off at the tank and blew it out. Connected everything back up and eureka, gas is now showing up in the filter. Gave her a shot of starting fluid and she fired but died. Gave her another crank and she started. Running rough, but running.
So this is a project where I didn't plan on a project. Not going to be a quick restore or quick return to daily use. I have way too many other "must do" projects to really spend much time on this old girl. HOWEVER, I did save her from the crusher and I do love Ford trucks, so over time this old girl will return to the land of the living and a few years out to the land of a full restoration.
Moral of the story, be careful what you bid on, you just might get it.

from SoCal. Great story and you found the right place for these trucks. This site and its members pretty much have all the info you will ever need for your truck!
