Hi everyone! I'm Rob, currently of WY. I've been the 2nd owner of a 69 F100 for 11 years. It was my grandfather's only truck, and my 18th birthday present. It's 2WD, has a 390, and an early t-18. As a dumb kid, I destroyed it and sent it to a junk yard. A year later, I bought it back and have been replacing everything since. It's my daily driver, over every other vehicle we own, its also my favorite. I've been viewing this site for the last few years with all my issues, and finally decided to jump aboard. Hopefully my good experiences (and some of the bad) will be as useful to some of the users, as their info has been to me. I'll get some images up later. Forewarned, he's an ugly ol' guy. He was my priority til I had kids. 6 kids later, and he hasn't done much improvement but getting me where I need to go

The kids actually fight (not physically ) over who gets to ride in it whenever we take both vehicles. "Billy," named after my grandfather, is a favorite amongst the kids. My son even took a picture of him in for show and tell in 3rd grade. The next week, I was asked to come by the school in him. Once I can upload photos, I'll get some up. My phone isn't the easiest to work with, and we can't get any decent internet out where I live just yet. Hopefully soon

Ok, it worked this time. This was a couple years back after I got the new tires. It took me 3 years to find a matching set of hurricane mags that were in good shape, and another 6mos to clean them up, sand them, mask them off, and get matching paint in the ribs. The daughters convinced me of purple. But now, its going to go black and green. Just haven't decided which green of that era. Any suggestions?

This is the oldest 2 daughters' favorite truck, although he doesn't come out much. At best, he gets 9mpg, in lower altitudes.

This was my father's first truck, what I learned vehicle work on starting at 5. It's a 1965 D100, /6 and 4:11 rearend. Originally a runway truck for FCAFB in Airway Heights, WA. After he got his honorable discharge, we moved back to Spokane, where my parents are from. The guy who got to sport this truck new on the base was given the option of purchasing it when he retired, which he did. He drove the truck a few years, then parked it. A few years after that, in '88, while we were searching for a house, my dad spotted it, and just had to have it. Well, many years and lots of time and money, there it is. After nearly 700k miles, the /6 had to go, and in came a 360. It was gifted to me almost 6 years ago. So, now I am the proud owner of my father's first truck, and my grandfather's only truck. Now the difficult part of which of my 6 kids get the 2 trucks

Once I search out other pictures of the Ford, I'll get that story up, but not without the pictures to help explain the sadness and hard times this dumb teenager put it through. I'll try getting that done tonight, but! Until then, FORD ON GUYS!!!!

This was the start of my ford, 2 weeks after I gained it in 2002. Spent a week making it shine, my uncles had bought the tires, wheels, shocks, and carburetor for it to add to the gift. 5 weeks after this picture was taken, the tragic accident occurred that wiped out the front end. Even though I wasn't at fault, ALLSTATE said I was too inexperienced to be driving, no longer insurable, and dropped me. I've had to repair the truck on my own from there. No accidents since, and no allstate either.
A year later, I sent him to the junkyard after a rocker arm broke and tore a hole in the valve cover. Surprisingly enough, the 390 still ran good, just blew oil everywhere. Almost a year after that, I bought what was left of him back, and pieced him back together. Took 8 months of non-experienced determination in that junk yard, an old guy that liked my enthusiasm, and a good friend who came out in the last month on my 21st bday. Dave brought quite a bit of different import beers, an air compressor, impacts and air ratchets, and a cherry picker. That night, we were drunk, greasy, and had another miter stabbed and running. 2nd best present ever, as the year before for my 20th, I became a father
Now, after lots of time and work on him, the drivetrain is pretty solid, the brakes are lots better (Thanks to ). Suspension is getting better, although I'm still contemplating a '75 rolling chassis for a 4WD conversion in Spring. If I do that, then the '72 fix-it-kit (parts truck) will possibly become the runner truck, and get all the 2WD goodies I remove from the '69. That's all still up for debate at this point.

This was only days after the Krylon paint job, but as you can see, its not quite what it used to be. Lots of '70s parts, such as the bed, some of the interior (domelight door switches, soft door panels, which I regret now), etc. And, the 94's chrome wheels. A few mods had been done to that motor, but nothing too major.
It started out as a rehoned 360, ready for rebuild. Took a 352 crank, had it checked and machined, matched to the 360 rods (same build as a 352 now), added the 427 heads and a 4bbl intake off a '64 fairlane 390, slapped a Holley 600cfm. Now its a highly aspirated 352 that wraps out pretty quick. Well, technically, it does nothing but sit in ky garage, waiting for yet another rebuild. The exhaust lifter for #4 exploded and seized the cam. Luckily, it was while idling, so not too much internal damage, not that I've seen yet. But, time will tell, I haven't been brave enough to fully open it up. Just pulled it out, set it aside, and dropped a 390 in.
This is the shortened story so far. Any laughs or comments are welcome of course. I'm very proud of my truck, and I'll never make the mistake of letting him go again.
