Gas Cap question
Ok I am looking at a gas cap for my truck. http://macsautoparts.com/ford-pickup-tr ... HL1108158/ Macs lists it as '48-'50. Does anyone know if there is a difference in the fill neck between the F1 and the bump? I wonder if the only reason they list it as the years '48-'50 is because that is what the cap originally came on.

Don't know the answer to your question but I really like that cap! Hope it does work so I can have one too.

Re: Gas Cap question
I don't have an answer for you either, but if it ends up working, please post an update here because I also would like to get a couple of those (2 tanks).
I am not familiar with the specs on that era truck, but if the fill tube/gas tank is set up the same way (in cab), couldn't you just run an older fill tube to the bump tank? I mean, the way ours are set up now are the metal fill tube, to a rubber hose, to the tank. How hard could it be to use the older fill tube or cut an older tube to use in the same fashion? The only part that might be an issue would be getting the older fill tube to work with the rubber body gasket to make a good seal, depending on the size of the older tube. In theory, it should be a very easy thing to do, but again, I am just speaking in theory.

Re: Gas Cap question
I like that cap so much I have even thought about it to the point of buying the correct fill neck for the F1 & cutting the top off welding it to the bottom of a bump tube if need be. Hoping someone might know if it is a direct fit thus making my day. The cap will end up on my truck. Just a matter of how much work is involved. Gotta be a breeze compared to doing the hood or anything else I have done so far.
