67 Trim and paint
I just bought a 67 F100 that the previous owner had shaved all the trim, locks, mirrors, and handles from. One problem is I don't have any exterior mirrors or know which style was on the truck. Another obstacle is that the paint code is MJ. I know that M is for Whimbledon White and J is for Rambutan Red but which color was on top? I'm assuming it was the White being it was listed first on the tag. One other question I have is that did they always cover the steel dashboard with the vinyl pad or were there trucks built with without that. I'm asking because the pad in mine is in terrible condition and they cost so much to replace. The truck is a base model truck with power steering and brakes although it is not a Ranger or Custom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help you with the color code, but I am sure that someone else that knows will chime in here.
As for the mirrors, there are a few options that the truck could have come with. It all depends on what you want, but it could have come with the small sport mirrors which most people think look best, but can be hard to see out of: http://www.lmctruck.com/features/fb/FBMR2.htm
Or it could have come with the tri-pod type mirrors which most people associate with GM: http://www.lmctruck.com/features/fb/fbcbn.htm
or it could have had the West Coast style mirrors: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... p?p=574165
Again, it all depends on what look you want for your truck.
As for the dash pad... Some people take the pad off and just run bare metal which can look great. But you have a lot of mounting holes unless you fill them. The cheaper alternative to buying a new pad is to keep the old crusty pad in place and get a cover for it. The plastic covers they sell look exactly like a new pad and unless it is pointed out, most people cannot tell the difference. You can price shop around but most are around $100. Here is a link to the cover: http://www.stockinteriors.com/DashCaps. ... odelId=210
And here is a picture of mine installed over an old crusty dash pad like you described. I did not do as good of a job as others on this site and you can see a little bit of bowing on mine by the windshield because I did not brace it very well when I was letting the glue set. Others on here have pictures with theirs installed where they had heavy objects all over it while the glue dried and theirs layed down perfect. But even with my bowing spots, the dash cover still looks 1000 times better than the old dash pad:

Re: 67 Trim and paint
Calfdemon, thanks a lot for your help man. I am definitely going to look into the dashpad cover and see if I can find a red one to match the factory pad. As for the mirrors, the I'd say that mine did have the small spot mirrors and that's probably what I'm going to go with but I have all kinds of work before I have to worry about that. I did do some sanding and figured out that my truck was red on top and white on the bottom, though I'm still not sure about the top and back of the cab around the back glass. I've seen some pics where some were the same color as the bottom there. I don't know if that's factory or not but it does look good even though it does add a lot of work to painting the truck but would pay off in the long run. The pics of your interior look pretty good and I'd never noticed the bow in the dash if you hadn't pointed it out. Thanks a lot for the help.
