Meanwhile I was pricing getting the bed soda blasted, top and bottom with line-x covering top and underneath, wheel wells, etc.. Will need to save a little to get that done so I decided to attack the sides of the bed and its imperfections. Along where the trim was, water gathered and created pitting and rust. Nothing too bad but definitiely need some TLC. Wire wheeled that out. Took rails off top and fixed a few dents, filled in the seemingly random extra holes (PO mst have drilled since this bed is from my donor truck). Then topped it all with a fresh coat of POR 15-silver. Will go back in there next weekend and use skim fill to level off the pitted areas. Unless someone has other ideas? Here is a shot of the one side I worked on today. WIll get after the other side later. Looks kinda goofy now but it is a work in progress.
