My 19yo Son and I recently acquired a beautiful 68 F100 Custom Cab. The truck is in incredibly good shape with minimal rust on the body (a couple of quarter size spots on the door), no dents and all of the trim is in great shape.
We picked it up from a gentleman a few towns over that had given up on the project due to time and funds.
The engine is very well built with some nice performance upgrades that help it run like a champ (only about 1 hr run time to harden the cam, check for leaks, etc).
When we picked the truck up, the core support, grill, headlights, etc werein the bed and the truck was minus the throttle assembly and exhaust. Since then, my son has assembled the front end and managed to get everything wired in and working. Now we are going front to rearand making sure everything is as it should be and discovering a few "issues" and jury rigged fixes, but nothing to serious.
We have had the truck about a month (Purchased mid Sept 13) and have made great strides in getting it road worthy.
Plans are to lower the front 3", rear 4" and upgrade the suspension and braking capabilities and work over the interior.
We look forward to continuing the build and gaining a wealth of knowledge from other members of the site.
Thank you in advance
