Repairing Rusted Out Door Corners
I have rust in the bottom of my doors right near the end corners where some rust holes were on the inside of the door. I used a Dremel and got all the dead metal out and turns out I have a hole on the outside sheet metal too. I was just going to use Bondo after POR15 coating the rust but with a hole on the outside straight through is this still the best choice? I was thinking JB weld might be a better choice, its a good strong filler and its easy to smooth out too. I have the trim that covers up the bottom part of the door so no hole is visible unless you remove the trim and looks don't matter then. All the better if it looks good but no big problem if its not. The hole is approx 1/4 inch in diameter. I'm going on my run tomorrow for parts so if I make a decision soon rather than later I will have one less run to make. Thanks for the help

Re: Using JB Weld to Repair a Rust Hole
Those doors take a lot of abuse. JB weld is not as flexible as body filler. Also, that 1/4" hole on the outside is nothing compared to the inside. You could need a 2x2 or bigger patch.
I would wire brush like mad, POR it, and bondo if it is a quick fix you need. Personally I will be welding patch panels to save my doors.

Re: Using JB Weld to Repair a Rust Hole
I decided against the JB Weld and picked up some glass filler from AutoZone. That way its a little more substantial than Bondo but not quite as severe as welding( which I'd have to pay someone to do). I also discovered my floor pan has Oman ugly spot that needs some attention too.

Re: Repairing Rusted Out Door Corners
I was painting today and I only was able to get one coat of POR15 on before it got dark. The paint took longer to dry than normal. Other than that so far so good. Tomorrow I'll have to do the other so it doesn't fully dry and I have to rough everything up again. How do I remove the bottom door trim without hurting it? The bolt nearest to the door support brackets is stuck just spinning. It won't tighten or come loose. I don't think its stripped but I know it's not coming out right.

You could also use Miracle Paint and fiberglass cloth.
Rock hard when your done.
Search Miracle Paint on the web and watch the video.
