1967 F100 flareside bed swap?

Post by 60 FORD »

I am looking at a 67' f100 and it has the flareside ( stepside) bed, I am not a fan of that bed, My question is what styleside (straight) bed will fit and be correct on the 67' ? I think I can get this truck cheap, like $500 cheap, its all there, not sure it runs, has some rust on the lower cab next to the bed? Is it worth getting?

As 4 worth you should be able to sell the bed for what you pay for the truck. Sounds like a good deal . I think 67 - 72 will fit proper.

I have a 1968 and I'm in the process of swap now . My old bed is off .I plan on adding the 20 gal. mustang tank to rear before installing bed . I'll upgrade suspension and lower with bed off . I'll try and post pics .

60 FORD,

Where are you located? Is it a short bed, or a long bed? Heck, if you want a truck with a styleside bed, you can probably find someone on the forum that's willing to drive a few miles and swap you.

I am in Laveen, AZ (just southwest of downtown Phoenix) it is a short bed, I need to get some pics and post them, but the guy who owns it is in the hospital and I have been trying to catch his son at the house but he's never there, he told me last time I was there to make an offer and I was in hurry and just took a quick look at it. Are the stepsides hard to find, I know not that many were made, I just find then kinda odd looking with the step on such a square body.

I just picked up a '67 Flareside F100 today for parts. The main part I want is . . . the Flareside bed :) To each his own huh? But I will be able to part out the truck and get a free bed in the end. That's what it is all about. :woohoo:

Dang! I'm in SoCal, so it would be a long drive, but I have a long bed! So, a general question for the board: Were all of the flareside beds short beds? Did they ever come on F250s, or were they only on F100s?

Don't know about the F100-F250 thing but the flare side came in a long bed variety too. I always thought they looked kinda odd though. The difference in length is highly noticeable at the step. I prefer the short bed on a flareside and think the long bed looks better on a styleside.

What do you mean which bed? A short Styleside box from a 67-72 is the bed you want.
