Need a tailgate for my 67 f100

Post by Rockybar »

New to this ford thing.

I need a tailgate for my 67 short bed f100.

I assume a 67-72 will work, but will a 6th gen f100 work too?

thanks,
Andy (chevy guy) ;)

A Dentside tailgate will fit but the body lines will be way off. Exercise patience and you'll find a 67-72.

I realize this post is kinda old but saw this...

It's kinda vague on what he has. He has a few post claiming to have lots of ford parts.

Is your 67 F100 a flareside or styleside. Flareside means stepside. Styleside means straightside. The best Ford parts house is Dennis Carpenter out of North Carolina. Their tailgates run about 475 to 500 plus packing and freight. I have gotten 2 from them and been very satisfied.

Scored a tailgate from Craigslist for $70. Straight, needs some paint and its ready to rock. Found a set of hinges and latches for $50 shipped. Spent $30 in paint, so hopefully it'll turn out alright enough.

I could do with a cheap score like this as shipping one to the UK will be astronomical, the Do**e one on there at the moment works but the body lines are off a bit, but not much. Not many classic American cars in breakers yards over here let alone Bumpsides

The shipping cost to you in the UK is unreal. I spend some time at Mendenhall AFB outside of London in late 69 early 70 when I was in the USAF and the shipping cost then was out of site. And to ship a tailgate to you from the US today. You better be RICH.

I wish! as a single parent I have no hope of that happening.... ordered some bits from LMC around $150 worth, UPS wanted $180 to ship to me :x fortuanately LMC found some one else to ship for $90 better but still, ouch!
