Long time lurker...finally registered

Post by japago4 »

My name is James and I live in Spring, Texas. I've been lurking around here for a while, but I'm about to get started on a project so I decided it was time to register. I've got two 67's; a swb F100 and a F250 2wd Crew Cab short bed. I'm going to build the F100 and part out the Crew Cab to help with the parts bill.

I hate to part it out. It's a clean, V8, auto transmission, A/C, very straight, rust free truck, but I don't want to build it. I purchased the truck with only a bill of sale; no title. I considered going the bonded title route, but it doesn't seem to be worth the trouble. If anyone has a suggestion I'd like to hear it.

Up to you as it is your truck, but I am SURE there are folks out there that would buy it whole and you could still get the money for your other build. If the truck is all that you are saying it is, then it will definitely have a buyer and they can obtain a title wherever they take it.

I have a 69 Crew Cab and according to the Marti reports, it was one of only 860 built in 1969. They made even less of them in 67. After 40+ years, how many of those produced are still around? All of the crew cabs back then were special ordered and made by hand in the Ontario, Canada plant. They were not assembly line built until the late 70's. That is why you see so few of the Crews. Its tough to hear that a good crew is going to be parted or destroyed, but again, owners choice!

Put some pictures up (of both trucks  ) so we can see. Who knows? You might find a buyer right here on this website! Not me of course, the wife would kill me before I ever completed the deal. One 21 foot, long bed crew cab is enough for her.

I appreciate the imput. I'll pull the truck out and take some good pics this week. If it's that rare I may deal with the title hassle and keep it. I checked out the vin and you're right, it's a Canada truck with a 352, Cruiseomatic, Dana 60 with 3.73 gears. It has apparently been painted since it came out of the factory yellow and is red now.

Here's a link to the pics of the 1967 Crew Cab. I still don't know what I'm going to do with it since I'm having a difficult time getting a title.

That crew is in better shape than my crew was when I started and I thought mine was nice!! Yeah, if you can find a way NOT to part out that crew, you would be doing the bumpside world a favor. That is a GREAT 67 crew and one of the nicest I have seen for someone to start with. It really would not take a whole lot (comparatively speaking) to restore that crew. That 70-72 steering wheel needs to go though..

But that truck is all there! Other than a few small rust spots, the cab looks solid. You have all of the 67 only parts from what I can see and the truck is complete! It is a shame that you are having a hard time getting a title. I am sure there is a way to get it done with that current VIN. Of course, if you were to locate and buy a junk 67 F250 for cheap and part that truck out, then you may end up with an extra title and door tag... Just saying.
