Bumper Question

Post by swbhunter »

I wasn't sure where to ask this but I figured bumper was body. I have a beautiful chrome bumper on my '68 F250 2wd and I want to put it on my '67 4X4 frame. Is the 2wd BUMPER itself different than the 4X4 one or is it just the frame mounts that are different? I've heard it both ways. I want to get rid of the steel bumper that the 4x4 has and use the chrome one but I want to make sure that I can use the chrome one with just different mounts before I get rid of the steel one. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance :)

The best I can deduce from multiple online drawings is that they'll swap.

But riddle me this... why don't you just measure??

Measure what? I'm talking about brackets and attachments to the frame, not bumper length/size. It's hard to tell without tearing everything apart and one of the trucks is my daily driver and I don't want to tear it apart yet. Just for future reference to know if I need to buy a different chrome bumper. I was trying to find a quick answer to a rather simple question hoping to hear from someone who had done it...
