Hellooo from Nebraska

Post by MMarty »

Hey all. new guy here. I just aquired a 71 f100 from a buddy of mines dad. It has a 390 auto and is in pretty good shape. I'm pretty stoked because I remember riding around in when I was a kid. His dad is pushing 90 yrs old now and since I build cars for a hobby he wanted me to have it. He gave it to me under the condition that I NEVER sell it which I plan to honor that. I've always like these old fords and this was always my favorite body. Also its the same age as me. Thanks for letting me in.

Welcome from Lincoln! Where in Nebraska are you? It's helpful to add your location to your profile so if you look for parts someone close may be able to help you. That's a nice truck. Have fun with it!

I'm from the wonderful town (LOL) of North Platte. I grew up around these old fords. When I was in high school I worked in a auto repair shop and my boss was an old school mechanic who lived, ate, and breathed 79 and older fords. His daily driver was a georgeous black 79 xlt 4x4 with a 390. The guy I got my truck from has 4 69-72 trucks sitting around one of which is a 69 3/4 ton 2wd with a 390 4spd. THAT is a beast.

I've been to North Platte many times. I think 69twotone, a member here, lives in North Platte. You might try getting ahold of him. He may be able to help you with muscle or advice.
