Ive got a 67 ignition switch in my 67 which is unique to that year.
The door locks however match my spare (68-72) ignition switch.
So I have two different keys - one for the doors one for the ign.
Do you know if the tumbler can be changed out of the later ign switch and put in the 67 one? Hope this is clear. Im trying to figure out if this can be done so I would only have one key for both the doors and ign.
I dont have the door locks to match the 67 ign switch.
Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm almost certain that the tumblers will interchange.

JZ,
If you try switching the tumblers around. PLEASE disconnect the battery until you are completely finished installing the other tumbler. Don't ask me how I know.
I'll tell ya one thing though, if you don't listen to me you'll be searching for a whole new harness, cause that thing fries within seconds.
Good luck,
Lee

OK Kieth and NH68, thanks. I'm looking at the barrel of the spare ignition switch, and I can see its spring loaded in there. I will pull it out of there and try to put it into the 67 switch housing. And will definately disconnect the batt. hope it works.

Or just pull the harness off the back of the switch

I cant believe how easy that was. To change the lock barrel on these ignition switches;
-put the key in and turn it to the 'accessories' position.
-stick the end of a paper clip into the tiny hole in the face of the lock cylinder to release it and then,
-turn the key counterclockwise and pull the key and lock assy. out of the switch. The whole lock barrel will pull right out.
