Hi,
I bought a 1972 F100 without the tailgate, which I have since picked up.
However, on the passenger side the mounting holes for the hinge do not have any
threads to mount the bolts to. See picture below.
Is there an insert I am missing? Is there a "homemade" remedy for this?
I am welcoming any suggestions.
Thanks,
Volker

Re: Tailgate mount
The nut plate has been ripped or rotted out that's what the big hole is I do believe I would build another nut plate and weld it back in or take some big washers and weld nuts on them and stick up there but everytime you unbolt the hinge you'll lose the nut.
