Rear Sliding Window Channel Felt???
Anybody out there had any success in repairing a rear slider? I just got one for my 69" and the channel felt is almost gone. I wanna repair/replace this but need some ideas on how to go about it. Does the window need to be torn apart? Also any thoughts on where to find the material to fix this? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated to this novice!! The window is a "carlite" (sp?).

This is not the answer your looking for but about a year ago I went thru the same search. I was determined I was going to only use the stock rear slider, I never found "ALL" the parts needed to rebuild the window and after agonizing over the decision I bought a replacement slider from NPD. All my agonizing over using a aftermarket rear slider was wasted time, the replacement window is superior quality and finish and works flawlessly, I highly recommend it unless you must have a 100 percent correct truck. Below is a picture of it installed on my 72 and NPD catalog information.

I am of an age now that most of life's lessons were learned the hard way;
Life is hard, but it’s harder when you’re stupid.
Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from any direction.
Never ask how stupid someone is 'cause they'll turn around and show you.

If you had the choice “Looks or Brains” take the Brains, Looks will get you thru the first half, but Brains will last a lifetime.

I rebuilt the one for my 67 and the one I put in my 94 that was out of a 79. I got the rubber gausing strip from the local glass shop and the felt from the local hardware store. Try them all the parts to repair mine cost about $20 for both windows.
