I wanted to bring this post back to life. The thought of swapping grilles came back into my mind. I got a quote to chrome my '69 steel grille for $400.

- What do you guys think for that price?

-Any new opinions on my original post?

Considering what a mint chrome grill for the 67-68-69 trucks go for I would totally drop $400 & get that dude chromed. It's in too good of shape not to. Hell run it for a while & if you get tired of it, swap the '72 grill back in & ebay the chrome grill. That grill chromed has the potential to bring big bucks if someone JUST has to have it.

I vote chrome all the way.

While I generally agree with you, my F600 instrument panel looks SOOOO much nicer than the stock cluster!

I vote chrome if it pencils, but only if the rest of the truck compliments the chrome (trim, etc.). Just my :2cents:

Well, I finally got my steel '69 grille chromed and installed tonight! I like it a lot better than the '72 and I'm glad I did it. What do you guys think?

Much better! I never really liked any of the plastic inserts. When I get to it on my '70 I'm replacing them with billet inserts from LMC. The rechromed steel grill looks spectacular!
