New guy in North Carolina

Post by fmfdoc68 »

Just wanted to check in and say hi. I've been a classic car nut my entire life but with kids, school, military life and my wife, I've never been able to own one. I just recently picked up a '68 F250 in really pretty good shape for $1500. The FE 360 wanted to run, but just didn't have the heart (the carb float was stuck) so I replaced the intake manifold and put a 4bbl carb on and changed out the points. She fired right up. I took her down the street to put some gas in her and look for any other little things that were wrong. I finished filling her up and my wife came walking out of the store and asked what was leaking from my truck. Long story short, ended up replacing all of the hoses, the radiator and the fuel tank. Since then, Ive put new shocks on her along with a new rag joint and any number of other little things. Hopefully once the major things are done, she'll have a long happy life. Also just wanted to say that so far I have enjoyed the site and all of the tips I've picked up already.

I'm right outside of Camp Lejeune/Jacksonville. I'm actually a transplant from Iowa.
