another newbie from missouri
Hello all. New to this forum...great site! First, a story... I have come across a great (IMO) buy. It's a 1972 F 100 XLT long bed. 99, 148 miles. It is essentially a one owner. The second owner story is interesting. I bought it from the second owner, who only had it a month. He is an 80 year old gentleman who had his 1970 ranger stolen off his farm. He wanted to replace it with this 1972. So, he picked up this truck from an estate where the original owner had passed. He brought this 1972 back, and as luck would have it, a few weeks later the highway patrol recovered his 1970 truck. Not needing two, he placed this beauty out on his farm with a for sale sign. SOLD! The truck has its bill of sale from May of 1972 for a base price of 2,738 dollars, but had several upgrades to ring out at $4,010. The seat, carpeting, dash are immaculate. Original wheels, glass and rubber are all good. It has a two tone green paint scheme and the 4 inch trim with a wood (ish) inlay. I am not sure at this point whether to make a daily driver out of her, or to start an amateur restoration. It truly is one of the cleanest and unmolested F 100's I've seen. My goal is to keep it that way.
