Hello All,
I just bought a 68 F100 which looks to be very original. Color is a light yellow with a bit of a greenish tint to it. Color code on driver door VIN plate is a 3. Checked this VIN number with VIN on passenger side frame rail and everything matches up, so looks to be the original door. Under the VIN decoder on this website, there is no 3 listed for 68. I know the 69 decoder thumbnail shows a paint code 3 of Yucatan Gold and says 1968, but that is not the color of my truck. Full VIN number of my truck is F10YRD20495. Second row reads: WB 131, Color 3, Model F100, Body 3 81, Trans G, Axle 17. Third row reads: Max GVW 05000, Cert Net HP 172, RPM 3800, DSO 75. Can anyone shed some light on this?

It sounds like a special order Mustang color called "whipped cream", but a picture might help somebody identify the color by sight.

Looks like New Lime. Did you take that photo under fluorescent lights? Looks a little more green to me.

Yeah, those pictures are under fluorescent lights. It is a kind of a strange color, in bright sunlight it just looks like a pale yellow, but in lower light it does look a lot more green. Your 69 looks less yellow than mine in the pictures, but maybe its just the light. Very cool truck by the way. I'm certain my 68 came this way from the factory though as it is that same color up underneath the dash. If the truck was built in April of 68, could it have been ordered with a 69 model year color? Not that big of a deal I guess as I could get the paint computer matched by using the glove box door or something, just a bit of a mystery.
