How is cab mount bushing hardware designed to function?
What I mean is, how is it supposed to work? I have 3 out 4 sets of my cab mount hardware and have to make my own final set. I have access to a full fabrication shop so tools and materials are not an issue. From looking at the originals, I'm a little vague about the form, fit and function. There are some tabs on the inner tube that look like they either lock it into the outer tube or keep them separated a set distance. So are they supposed to keep the spacing between the upper and lower washers a set distance or just hold the bushings centered and tighten to the specified torque? I'll be installing some polyurethane cab and radiator support mounts which require the use of the original mounting hardware so I want to, as closely as possible, mimic the function of the original. If they are to hold a set distance, then torque, I need to make sure the lengths of the inner and outer tubes meet to hold that distance. If just centered and torqued, allowing a 1/2" or so difference in length would be sufficient. Anybody got a clue?

IIRC - the two rubber halves are made with a groove so the locate in each other - so they can't slide laterally - they also have a ridge to locate them into the frame hole.
through the center is a metal tube - which limits the compression when tightening down and gives it rigidity.

So the outer tube is what limits the compression and therefore the only important dimension, besides the diameter of the tube of course, is the length of the outer tube. Correct? I measured this at 2-5/16".

I've found them - they are the original ones - the rubbers are ok - but the tubes are a bit rusted and thin - the ends especially ?
I can get some photo's of them if you want - or I can just put them in a PO flat price box and send them on a ride for you ?
