Dent side cab mount bushings the same?

Post by sargentrs »

Are the dent side (specifically 1973) cab mount bushings the same as the bumps?

Randy I used the dentside polyurethane ones and had no issues.

Thanks. I was looking at the Energy Suspension one's on Summit's website and they only list dent side models. Went to ES's website and the info was the same, only dents. Appreciate the confirmation!

Hey SVT522, did the kit come with the inner metal sleeves or did you have to reuse the stock ones?

I have to remove the cab to do some frame/suspension work on my '74 and figured I would replace the rubber mounts with polyurethane since it was off. But I'm having trouble getting the rubber off of the metal sleeves, so some mounts are stuck in the frame. I might have to take a sawzall to them.. lol

I used about 4 flat head screwdrivers to remove the rubber. It's like removing a tire from a rim the old school way, using only tire irons. Drive one screwdriver in between the rubber and the outer washer and pry out. Then another screwdriver right beside it. Keep at it until you get the center hole of the rubber where you can get one inside it. Then pry out, stick in a screwdriver, pry out, etc. It's tedious and frustrating but it'll get 'em out. Probably took me 45 mins on each one.

Cool thanks man! Did you recieve the poly mounts yet? I'd like to really confirm what's all in the kit before I spend the money.. otherwise I'll just reuse the rubber ones since they're not really damaged at all.
Thanks for the help!

That's good to know. $75 for a good set of poly bushings isint a bad deal at all. :fr:
