Daddy's Girl restoring memories
Hi, I've joined in hopes of getting help with a project that is near and dear to my heart. The fall of 1989, when I was 5, my dad brought home a slick black '67 F100 Ranger LWB. It was his daily driver until the year I graduated high school, then Ruby was gifted to me. I cried and refused to take it away from him, that truck was the embodiment of my dad. He took her off the road and started to work on her for me. (I had a sweet 69' LTD to drive til then)
The summer of 2006 dad passed from a sudden heart attack. Ruby was sitting in the garage in pieces. Even though I grew up in the garage, I was a body work girl, he didn't put me under the hood very often.
Now I'm at a loss. But it would me the world to mean to have that piece of him back with me.
So, look over the obvious blonde questions please , thanks - Hannah

Re: Daddy's Girl restoring memories
from SoCal and sorry for your loss, but you are at the right place to get the help you need to get that part of dear ol' dad back on the road! These trucks are not overly difficult to work on and if you ask away, you should have it up and running in no time. There are no dumb questions here. Every one of us was new to these trucks at one point. So ask away!! Oh, and we love pictures here... So any pics of the truck would be great!

Hiya from Florida. Sounds like a great project! The memory of your Dad should give you inspiration to get through it. Look forward to seeing Ruby back on the road.

Hello Hannah, we should keep in touch. It appears that we are in the same boat down to the blond hair. Wish that I would have insisted working on cars w/dad when I was younger. I'm kicking myself in the butt for it now. Goodluck!

Re: Daddy's Girl restoring memories
awesome story! good luck
you'll find a lot of help here, seems like people are friendly and knowledgeable more so than a lot of other car forums.
the search kinda sucks though, so I've been using google, type in "search text site:fordification.com" and you'll get concise faster results, most of the questions you'll probably have to ask have been answered already
example: type in "timing a points distributor site:fordification.com" and you'll get :
https://www.google.com/search?q=daddy%2 ... 80&bih=885
which is more useful than the same search through the built in forums search function.

Re: Daddy's Girl restoring memories
My dad bought a '91 Thunderbird and I spend quite a bit of time on the phone with him getting him up to speed on "that darn computer crap" as he called fuel injection. I helped him get a plan together for what he wanted to accomplish, but he died in May of '06 before he could turn a wrench on the old 'bird. I got the car and did everything we had discussed. I drive the car every day and I can almost feel dad right beside me. Good luck with your dad's truck.

Re: Daddy's Girl restoring memories
Welcome from Southwest Missouri, Fairlight to the best site, bar none for this model of Ford truck. Keith has accumulated such a vast library of information that it can be rather daunting at times. The folks who have used it for awhile will be happy to post links to help you narrow down your searches and find the stuff you need. Pictures are a requirement, as we have never quite seen enough to satisfy. Guaranteed, if you posted a picture of your spark plug wires, someone at some time would be able to use that shot to help solve a problem or answer a question. LOL Welcome again, to the family of F100!
