Howdy!
I am looking for a specific rear step bumper for my '72 LWB Custom. This bumper was pretty common on '67-'72 F-100's in their time, and still often appear on trucks listed on eBay.
From research, it appears that these bumpers were probably most available new in the middle of the country - western Missouri, eastern Kansas. With 40 years' time and how much these trucks have moved around the country, though, these bumpers could be anywhere by now.
My situation started when I brought my '67 LWB Custom to St. Louis from Kansas City -- it had one of these bumpers on it, and I really liked it. The '67 cab was too rusty to save, so I converted the truck into a trailer to match my '72. So, I have one - but I need another for the new truck.
Paint and color are completely unimportant, but I would like to find one that isn't bent or badly rusted. (They did tend to rust behind the license plate.)
I started my search for this bumper here on Fordification back in 2008, and tried again in 2011. I'd really like to find a bumper without having to buy a whole truck on eBay!
I would love to hear from anyone who has one, or who can put me in touch with someone who has one!
As always, thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Re: Search for Rear Step Bumper - Mid-Country
Hi again!
One addition to my previous post: If you have one of these bumpers, or saw one in a recent junkyard trip, it would be extremely helpful to post any pics you might have.
These things are NOT small, and they're not very light weight - meaning that shipping would probably kill the deal. That said, if you have a bumper that might match the ones shown in my first post above, you'll most likely meet me and my '72 when I'm adding cash to the palm of your hand.
As always, thanks in advance for any help or tips in the right direction!
