G'day from Australia!
Hi guys, Im Jay, Im 25 and im from Brisbane, Australia. Im a fitter and turner by trade and work in the mining industry, and although Im young, have spent a lot of time around cars.
I recently purchased my 2nd Ftruck, it being a 1970 Ford F100 short bed styleside, it runs a 300ci straight six on LPG and a 4 speed box. I beleive its a canadian built truck.
It was owned by a builder since new, so it has a canopy and a big steel roof rack and a 5 post bull bar, all of which is being removed,as well of a bunch of other junk stuck on there by the 85 year old owner.
Bumpside shortbeds are quite rare over here, so I jumped on it as soon as I found it, it had only been advertised for 3 hours. I was 1200kms away at work, and I arranged for a mate to go and look at it, he said it was good so I transferred him the money and he paid for it and got it towed home for me, I havnt even seen the truck in person yet! I fly back home tomorrow to pick the truck up!
Plans so far are to remove all the crap (canopy, bullbar, roof rack, truck mirrors and the 100 switches the owner has fitted to the dash for no reason) and fit some original steel wheels, some hubcaps if I can find some and some whitewall tyres. I plan to purchase a DJM diff flip kit, and possibly some lowered I beams and tidy up the interior a bit, and generally just make it a nice, clean cruiser! Anyway Ill stop rambling and post a couple of pics, more to come when I get home and get stuck into it!!

from SoCal. No matter how many right hand drive bumps I see, they still throw me for a loop every time I see a photo. It's like looking in a mirror! I don't get that with other right hand drive vehicles I see, but the bumps always make me want to flip the photo around in photoshop!

Re: G'day from Australia!
Hey guys!! Its been a while! I kind of forgot I was a member of this site!
Anyway, ive been doing bits and pieces on the truck, mainly just collecting new parts and stuff. I ripped the canopy/roofrack/bullbar off the truck. Fitted a chrome front bar. Ripped off the truck mirrors and fitted some little peep mirrors. Ditched the big ugly wheel in favour for some original 16x6 steelies, found on Gumtree (Australias equivilant of Craigslist) for $100! Even came with some cool old school bias ply tyres with heaps of tread, and they hold air so Im gonna run them! I think they look the part! Words cant describe how hard these wheels are to come across over here, even though F series was a big seller over here, the original wheels just dissapear. Also found some centrecaps off eBay, I think off a later model also, but again, like hens teeth over here. I threw a coat of black on the wheels and painted the centrecaps silver and had the tedious task of painting the original "Ford Motor Company" lettering with some Tamiya hobby paint and a fine brush. Itll never get noticed, but im all about attention to detail.
Ive been having some trouble with the LPG system (pretty sure you guys call it propane) so a lot of time has gone into sorting that out.
I did manage to find a guy wrecking a 71 F100, so I scored a mint grille, a good windscreen (mines cracked) and a few other goodies.
Also ordered some new side markers and tail lights from eBay, and have made an order through Summit Racing (the best website ever created) which Im waiting for it to arrive, it contains a Grant steering wheel adaptor so I can run my cool flake green Mooneyes wheel, a 3 pack of gauges (oil pres. temp and volts) and a few other odds and ends.
Next on the agenda is tidy up the interior, fit new carpet, a bit of a wiring tidy up, install stereo (hidden in the glovebox of course) and I have a cool 60s stereo that I won on eBay thatll cover up the big hole in the dash put in by the previous owner, dont care if it works, but itll look cool.
Well Ill stop my rant now and post a couple of pics. More to come soon!!

from Oklahoma! That old Ford is gonna clean up real good. I would like to try my hand at that right hand drive.
I noticed a couple of other Australian members trucks are on Propane as well. Do you guys run alot of LPG down there?
