New from Alberta, Canada

Post by DieselRam »

Hey Everyone!

I am from Alberta, Canada...Near Edmonton. I currently have a 1970 F250 that I am trying to decide if i should restore or not. I have a rust-free box with it and a rebuilt 460. My issue is that it needs new outer fenders, rockers, cab corners, floorpans, and rad support. I know that all these parts are available aftermarket for a reasonable cost. Do you guys think it is worth buying all the new parts and start rebuilding the truck? There are almost no rust-free cabs here in Alberta and I figure for the cost of looking elsewhere and shipping a cab here I might as well get all brand new metal and start rebuilding...What are your thoughts.

I look forward to all the good info here and hope to learn a lot...Thanks guys....

Anyone else from Alberta on here?

There are quite a few Alberta guys on here. Whether or not you fix what you have or do something else depends on your skills, tools, and time. I suggest you throw up some pics of what you have and others will give their opinion.

If you decide to look for something with a better body I highly recommend going to the USA, specifically Spokane Washington area. It is close and the trucks there are in much better shape than what you will ever find in Northern Alberta. The prices are a lot cheaper too. I brought one back last summer, it was fairly easy to do. Any questions let me know.

Oh ya... :wel:
