new from Denver
Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself here. I recently picked up a 1967 F100 with the 352 V8 and a 3 speed column w/overdrive. The truck has kind of a cool story. It was specifically ordered (and built in Michigan) by a farmer in Nebraska. While on christmas vacation with the family in Michigan he picked up his truck and drove it home! The same man owned this truck until his death when the truck was then parked in a barn for 15 years.
A couple of months ago, the neighbor bought the truck from the wife, installed a new condenser, changed the plugs, put fresh gas in the tank and she fired right up. He posted the truck (which I call "Red") on Craig's List.
Made the 3 hour or so trip to Nebraska and fell right in love. Right away knew that it would need some attention but didn't mind. Unfortunately, the truck sat for 15 years with gas in the tank which promptly rusted it out and on my way home ended up stalling out. Had it towed (thanks AAA) to the nearby shop who discovered the fuel filter had been clogged with rust. Replaced the fuel filter, found a used, but in good condition tank and I was on may way home to Denver.
I've had some transmission and diff work done thus far and this summer loads of other projects. The old farmer removed the heater core, housing and hoses at some point when the heater core began to leak. I'd like to add this back at some point.
Most of my mechanical knowledge is with old motorcycles... not so much auto's, but I plan to do what I can

Welcome!! 67 Effies are simple old rigs, you can work on mortorcycles you can work on these trucks..... I am living proof it can be done right by less than competent people. Fordification is an outstanding resurce for all the idiodic minor and major engineering changes Ford made during the 67-79 years.
Enjoy the ride!
