Looks like to much work for 3-4 days worth of wood.- Easyer just to call someone and give them a $50 for bringing over a load of logs.

Re: Does anyone gather wood like this ?
I just watched the entire 10 minutes of that video! haha... I don't know why, but that was intriguing to me. I guess since the only way I can get firewood is to grab a small bundle from outside the grocery store, I find this video more interesting than those that are able to actually go out and get their own.
For some reason, I think that would be a nice relaxing day with the dog... But then, it would probably only be fun the first couple of times until it becomes a chore. Although, I think I would have quite a bit of fun working the log splitter!!![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Mr Calfdemon, I've used wood to heat with all my life and I still enjoy going out in the woods cutting a load of wood, bringing it home and splitting it up for the winter.
I thought if some one had property that was accessable by boat only, they would get an idea of how they could cut some wood and get it hme.

Re: Does anyone gather wood like this ?
I have a 45 hp New Holland with forks/bucket, and in two to three afternoons I can have enough wood off of my property to heat my house for the winter. The tractor is a huge help. A tweaked Husqvarna XP makes it almost fun.
To heat my house with gas I have to work a week to pay for it [Very efficient house!], so I would rather play in my woods than go to to work. Well, I always go to work, but I would rather spend the money on a toy! Besides, I like the feeling of independance that comes from cutting your own fuel.
I did not look at the video as I have dialup.......

Re: Does anyone gather wood like this ?
I heat my house with wood + hot water all year round via a heat exchanger and outdoor furnace.
Every other weekend my son and I go out to the woods and get us a trailer of wood. A trailer to us is 45 x 2 foot diameter & 2 foo6 6 inch high hardwood rounds.
I use about 12 full cords a year. I use a Stihl ms260 pro chainsaw to cut it up. The woods belong to a friend who wants it cleared eventually for a house.
It is my free Gym![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
