What do you think a good price would be for the truck? I plan on going to check it out tomorrow, what are some things I should keep an eye out for?

I'm no expert on the matter, but places to look for rust are the battery tray, the inner fender under the battery tray, the front fenders down low behind the wheels, the cowl just below the antenna(check both sides of the cowl), when you open the drivers door look up at the top right corner and see if there is a crack or rust, the door sills, the hoods rust out in the front.

The truck doesn't look all that bad in the pics, just the typical dings and dents from being used. $1000.00 would be a good price if everything works like it should. Does it got a 390?

I just got back from looking at the truck a few minuets ago. It seems to be in decent condition, a few dings but no major dents, a little surface rust but no holes rot, or major cancer spots. The truck seemed like it was bogging down when I took it for a test drive, I'm guessing that has something to do with the fuel lines or possibly the gas tank needs replaced. I could be wrong so please your bright minds & answers are greatly appreciated! Overall the truck seems to be ready for restoration, but the guy wouldn't take any less than $1,200. So I walked away hoping that he would call me back, but he never did. I'll give him a few days to think about the offer & then I'll call him back. It's a gamble I know, but I used to sell cars & when you offer someone $$$ it's hard to let it walk away when nobody else has even made an offer on the vehicle. Fingers crossed it's still there when I call him back!!!

That would be my next guess too! Not sure if I'd be able to drive it home so I may have to make plans to have it towed back to my place which is about an hour 1/2. Maybe if I just take it easy on the drive home I might be able to limp it all the way back lol

Do you have really good AAA?

When I gave my buddy my 67 camper special, we were having trouble getting it running after it had sat for nearly a year, and since he had the really kick ass AAA coverage and it was starting to rain, he said "screw it" and had it towed back to his place.

So I got a call from the guy who has the 69 F-250 4x4 & he told me he was just going to keep it because $1,200 wasn't a fair offer & he wanted to drop a 460 in it for some reason. Oh well, I figured I'd go with all of your responses & try to get it at a reasonable price, but he says that $1,500 is a firm & fair price. Gotta keep grinding until I find what I'm looking for!

So after searching the internet I came across this 1972 F-250 4x4! He is asking $2,500, what do you think?

That one looks really nice to me in the pics (body wise). If it all checks out seeing it in person it seem like a fair deal to me.
