I thought I ran across a new valve in one of the aftermarket catologues....Autokrafters, Macs? But then, could be my jumbled up braincells misfiring.

I believe that the manifold you are showing for the 4 wheel drum setup is simply a fliud distributer and not a proportioning valve.

I believe that is correct. The Drum/Drum has a manifold with a spool inside to detect differential fluid pressure between front and rear, if the spool slides to one side then it allows a switch to close and that turns on the "brake" light on the panel. It was difficult for me to understand what others were saying until I acctually was able to look at them. So I am hoping these photos here will help someone else later if they are searching previous posts.

Okay, brakes have been stopping my pickup. But I think I might have sent the new brakes lines to the wrong locations in the differential valve.

The problem i'm experiencing is that the pickup pulls to the right when I brake. The amount of how hard right it pulls depends on how hard I have to hit the brakes.

I thought this might be a problem in the drum, but then I remembered i put in the new brake lines myself, so there's room for screw up.

What do you guys think? Crossed lines in the valve?

no i would say brake adjusment problems for you hombre. i couldn't see the lines being switched left to right could be a problem . maybe if you switched them front to back that could be a problem because the front does most of the braking.on a proportioning valve the two the are on top in the middle feed the fuild the ones that are top and bottom from each other are fronts. the larger one goes to the rear.

One thing to remember here fordman is that he has drums not discs.

So there would not be any proportioning valve on these setups.

The resevoir is the same size in the master cylinder also with drums.

Well, whatever that thing is...Differential, proportional...It's pictured in Frisky's post under brake manifold.jpg.

I remember having to take off the front-right drum to replace the wheel cylinder. I guess I adjusted it differently that the rest of the drums, so that's probably my problem, right?

probably go ahead and adjust both sides this time to equal drag then see how it pulls when you stop.
