I got pictures and finally some spare time. I used the mtallic mid coat which looks amazing in the sun. Its a beautiful paint job. I really laid the paint on. 4 coats or primer, 4 coats of performance red, 1 coat of metallic clear mid coat and around 7-8 coats of clear. I put so many coats of clear in anticipation of wet sanding and polishing. I did my homework. I read plenty about this product. Plenty of negative opinions on it and I cannot dismiss all of it. I can say this though having done a successful job using this product, if you want to do it yourself and do it in your driveway as I did, this product works. You will only get out of it what you put into it. I will tell you what I put into it.
$600 in all materials which includes tape, sandpaper, Lowes cup gun kit($50) paint ($400) one package of 15 discs of 3m trizact 3000 wet sandpaper which I highly recommend 2 discs of 5000 3m trizact wet sandpaper discs havent used them yet but no doubt will make my paint job shine like glass and a few other minor things like a gallon of acetone. I am a painting contractor (residential) so I have a good filter mask which you will need or you will poison yourself.
The entertainment and pleasure of doing this is well worth it. Its a job I can be proud of. I am sure you could easily do a better more durable job with something other than this lacquer product but not likely successfully in your driveway. I must also add that this whole process left minimal mess on my driveway. I could keep writing but I have said enough for now I think.
Please ask me some questions if your considering doing it I am more than happy to share my experience.
