Try jcwhitney. They are basically universal unless your searching for a original set up, those seem to be far and few between.

Re: Need a in bed spare tire mount
This is the spare tire mount that I ran on my 72 and it worked great. With the way the tire mounts, you never even see the spare tire holder, so no one would know if it was stock or not. But this holder worked well with our truck beds: http://www.jcwhitney.com/universal-spar ... QgodR0IA4A

Nice, I'll probably get one of those for the Ranger. What do the originals look like?

Re: Need a in bed spare tire mount
Guys, somewhere here on the site there is a "junkyard list" of hard to find parts for our trucks that Keith put together. This spare tire mount, (as well as the recent Onan generator) are two items on that list. It's a list of things you will always grab if you ever see them in a junkyard-on a bump.
Once again the search engine here won, (against my will to find the list and post it)...

So... the good news. I found the link you were looking for. The bad news it is it is 404. However... this thread is both handy and mildly amusing.

Re: Need a in bed spare tire mount
I used a big J-hook that came with the spare that I robbed from a '93 Econoline. The tire had never been off the van, and the j-hook just hooks under the lip of the bed. On my '67, I put the tire right behind the driver, nestled into the space for the under-bed tank filler and the front of the cab.
Cost me ten bucks for a the unused tire, wheel, hook and threaded handle.

Here's a pic of the 64-72 bracket next to an 80s NOS dodge one I scooped at the last swap meet. These are getting hard to find without the bottoms rusted off them...

Mike,
Thanks for the picture! Not having the use of the search engine makes it a little harder to show folks the resources that are here. I also never knew the dodge bracket was that similar.

Re: Need a in bed spare tire mount
The box side height was the same from 64-96 so you can look for brackets in any of those years. I suspect chev and dodge had similar heights judging by the dodge bracket I picked up. The 73-up Ford brackets were wider and shallower on the bottom to account for the rounded floor-to-wall design they came out with.

Re: Need a in bed spare tire mount
I have got a spare one than I wound sell if your still looking. I took it of a 69 ranger and was going to use it untill I found a nos one. Its in good shape other than the bottom plate needs a little work.
