Sahweet! what was the conversion on, manual or auto? How did you deal with the shaft length issue if you did the Saginaw?

truck is an automatic, I got the box, pump, pulley, hoses, rag joint, bracket on ebay as a whole kit. the firewall bracket I got from the local pick n pull, along with a column from a 73 f100. I think I have maybe $300 total in the conversion.

Congrats! And there's more of a feeling of accomplishment when you do all the work yourself too, isn't there? Kinda like how food tastes better when you cook it yourself.

I drove it down to my best friends hobby shop in Oakland, about a 2hr drive. EJ and I have been like brothers for over 15 years. He is a master mechanic, and I took auto tech back 20 years ago, graduated top of my class, but never persued it as a career. Together we have restored several cars. It was like old times working on the truck, just we are both a little older and don't quite recover as fast as we used to. No more "all nighters" working on some old classic car, just a good solid day of it!

If i only had a way of finding my buddy John he and i could be rebuilding our vehicles together he has a 70 1/2 Falcon four door. 240 I6 C4 Auto.

But even he and i would have a hard time doing all nighters. And we are both in our early 20's but feel like we are over 40 cuase of the two years of all nighters working security/construction jobs through the Santa clara and mountian veiw Labor Ready offices.
