The last year here was 1992. Minor changes ...sunroof, rubber dash cover, (ugly) decals at body side...engine was the same, but with turbo diesel and 5th gear.


The engine (MWM 229) is famous here cause never break and it has low cost maintenance.
People say that's the reason Ford took of F1000 out of market. Of course, they want to sell!

1992, WOW I think i speak for almost every man on here, "I sure would like to pick through one of your junkyards" Everytime i see one here in a junkyard its been rode hard and put away wet and left out for the buzzards. I think ive traveled over 3000 miles for good parts to rebody my truck.

When was the first bumpside bodys produced there ? And if you don't mind whats the price of fuel there ? Were around $4.00 a gallon for diesel and $3.50-3.80 a gallon for gas.
This might sound like a dumb question, But are the bolts on your truck metric or standard size ? Always wondered about that

3000 miles...wow.
I bought my truck in other state, about 1500 miles, bring with my cousin in a non stop travel, while one was sleeping, the other was driving.
That was insane, but good experience.

Bumpsides started in 71 or 72 here i think, and it was very similar to 1970 USA model. Including v8 engine models.
Diesel started in 1979.

Diesel in Brazil costs US$ 1,00 per liter, GAS is around US$1,50 per liter.

The question about bolts, what you call standard = inches?
If yes, they're standard , I was talking to my friend another day and he said to be careful to disassemble the front of my truck,
cause we can't find the same bolts here anymore.

Talking about bolts, do you know what size is 53038-s (U-280) screw in this schematic? Mine is missing one and I cant find replacement.

A friend of mine Dad traveled to Brazil often with his job with a oil drilling tool company. I was always trying to bribe him into bringing me back f1000 parts with there equipment. They must be strict about parts leaving the country or the added weight or something because he would never do it for me. Lol

I would love to have one of the grilles that Hiroshi has on his truck. It looks like a 1970 grille but with a little more forward lean, which gives it a little attitude.

What kind of fuel mileage do you get from a diesel F1000? What's the horsepower and torque rating on the engine?

Hiroshi I think you could make some money if you were to sell some of those bed for our 40 year old trucks that rust at the bump seam.. Looks like Brazil got rid of it over the years..
