I usually use Acetone or MEK... I like MEK better because it doesn't "go away" as fast. But with either, you have to be careful not to get it on paint that you don't want removed!! Someone told me once to try 3M adhesive remover, but I haven't had to yet...

Unsolicited advice: If you use acetone, be sure and wear good gloves. That stuff will such every bit of moister from your hands.

I did the Acetone today. It got enough off for what I want to do.
GLOVES
Now you tell me. I had to use my nose to type this.
I am working on my Toyota. It is going to get painted here soon. I thought about good ol faithful Gasoline, but I didn't want to leave a oily film behind and have to turn around and use something else to get that up. I do believe in gasoline for cleaning stuff. When I am done, I pour the dirty gas into my neighbors cheby gastank
Thanks for the advice![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

re: The black gooy sticky crap on the widsheild frame?
A razor blade works for getting a large amount off but the remaining bit is difficult to scrape because of all the spot welds. The 3M adhesive remover works good but please, with any of these solvents, WEAR GLOVES and WORK IN THE OPEN! I have one co-worker who is now on a transplant list for a liver and another who is suffering from seizures because they failed to follow the can or MSDS warnings. Most of these solvents absorb through the skin into the bloodstream.

They put these warnings on the labels for a reason. Follow them. You're irreplaceable! ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
