Re: Hi from Brazil
from northern California! I like your truck!
I wonder if I could come down there and drive one home, just joking (old white guy driving through Central American and Mexico, bad idea). Oh, and the diesel would cost a bit much. Differences I spotted: heater delete, dash panel, no hood badges, rear gas tank, brake pedal/handle? and of course the diesel engine. Can you still buy parts for a bump down there?

Re: Hi from Brazil
Thank you guys!
Kurt, you're right on the differences, i didn't notice it all
And the badge is different:
But pre-79 is identical to american models.
Yes, I can find some parts. Most of them, cheap quality reproduction parts.
Things i can't find: lower side molding, cab molding (the previous owner took it off), and front grille.
The grille i can find here is plastic version, 4 headlights:
I don't like this grille
It is for 86 - 92 model, when F1000 was discontinued.

Re: Hi from Brazil
Man is that grille ugly!
Can you still get the behind the back tire gas tanks and the hardware to install them? We really like rear tanks up here, but the USA version that we can get is for the wider frame rails that were on all 73-79 two wheel drive trucks. 73-79 four wheel drive is supposed to work (narrow), but the outlet is different. Did they make longer bed versions down there, or just the short bed?

Re: Hi from Brazil
from choo-choo town Hiroshi. There's a lot of good info somewhere here on Fordification in reference to the Brazil bumps-but I can't seem find it without the search feature working as it used to. There are also about a dozen of your fellow countrymen from Brazil here, but I haven't seen any post in a few months now.

Re: Hi from Brazil
Kurt,
It's easy to find the tank like mine, including "modern" plastic ones, rust free. They are 86 liters, 22.7 US gallons I think.
Wikipedia says there's 119 liters version, but i don't know if it's true.
I'm not sure about the mounting hardware, but I think it is easy to find too.
Do you want one? We can trade.
They didn't make long bed versions here unfortunately. I saw few ones, but custom made.
Thank you Jeff, from Choo-Choo town!
I'll search for some info.

Hi Hiroshi, I unfortunately have a long bed F250. Darn, a nice new rear mounted tank would have been nice. BTW, what did you want in trade? We probably have a few things that you can't find down there.

Re: Hi from Brazil
Thank you Kraig! Diesel is very popular because it does almost 30 miles per gallon and diesel here is the opposite, Diesel is 25% cheaper than gasoline.Kraig wrote:Nice truck! What kind of mileage do you get with the diesel? Is that a popular engine there?
I can't find the aluminum grille, but i'm trying to buy a 67 grille from a user of ford-truck dot com forums. I love the look of 67 grille.Kurt Combs wrote:Hi Hiroshi, I unfortunately have a long bed F250. Darn, a nice new rear mounted tank would have been nice. BTW, what did you want in trade? I already bought a dome light bezel made by Jamie of fordification...
I'm looking for the lower side molding, hood molding and wheel arch molding...actually i can find the wheel arc molding here, reproduction, but they ask US$450 for the set.
ah, and the cab molding, i can't find here.

Didn't know there was such a thing LOL! I do remember a scary movie named the same. But mine is actually about folks tearing into things / not putting them back together / throwing them into a basket / me then finding these same basket cases / and bringing them back to life.Your nickname is because of basket case song?
Somewhere here on Fordification there is an awesome thread called "the meaning of your username" that's pretty cool.
Old Harley buddy of mine, (no longer with us) coined the term for me years ago.
