New guy. Want to hear what you think of the new ride.
Just got a sweet 72 F100 Custom with 8' flareside bed. 48000 original miles.
360
auto
air
Power steering
The truck was restored by a talented amatuer. Just a couple of small issues with it. I look forward to getting advice from the group.
The truck was originally from Missouri. I bought it from an older gentleman in south central Kentucky who got it a few years ago at an auction.
The truck lives in Louisville KY now.

I guess most of us aspire to be talented amatuers.
She pulls to the right a bit but not badly. Needs an alignment. Pulls to the left a bit when braking hard.
Air is cooler than outside but it isn't cold.
I can manage these issues with help from the group.

Bill, from choo-choo town. What a very nice example of our trucks step side version.

Re: New guy. Want to hear what you think of the new ride.
Good morning BillG,
I've had a couple of good staring sessions at the photos you posted--I love that bed! That bed has character is abundance. If my truck had that bed, there's no way I'd ever consider changing it for a different type.
Buying a truck that somebody else spent the money and time restoring's one of those things that I've always heard people say a guy should do, yet it seems to rarely happen; maybe those owning such trucks rarely part with them.
Thank you for the photos!

Re: New guy. Want to hear what you think of the new ride.
Thanks. I got lucky.
I travel in Kentucky every day for work. All my trips are out and back. I seldom have to spend the night out.
Three weeks ago I was driving down to one of my customers buisinesses and I saw this on the side of the road. It was parked there with a couple of other newer trucks and a couple of horse trailers.
I made a note to myself that I would look at it on the way home. On the way back, I didn't see the truck until I was beside it passing it up at 60 MPH.
I continued down the road thinking to myself "You have a very nice 1990 F150 that you've only had for a year and a half, why in the world would you want to stop and look at another truck anyway?"
I continued on for about 5 miles thinking about it, turned the car around and took these pictures.
I showed them to my wife. She was unimpressed. She is not a truck woman. I insisted that she look at the pictures to see what a NICE truck it is.
She could see it coming.
The 90' model F150 is up for sale. and this one is registered to me. I have antique tags on it and will probably only drive it several hundred miles a year going to small local car shows. I will NEVER let go of this F100.
I will take it to the dove shoot this fall. The guys will acknowledge that it is a pretty nice Ford but they won't say much about it really. They all drive modern trucks in the 30-40K range.
Why my friends purchase such expensive trucks to go to the hardware store and the grocery I will never understand.
