66 F100 PS PB CONVERSION

Post by PAYPAYS66 »

HELLO. I HAVE A GREAT 1966 F100 THAT I HAVE UP GRADED THE BREAKS TO POWER AND THE STEERING ALSO. I USED A 79 AS A DOANER FOR BOTH UP GRADES. I USED THE 66 TIE ROD AND CENTERLINK OR DRAG ROD, AS THE 79 HIT THE RADIUS RODS. HERE'S MY DELIMA, I PUT IT ALL TOGETHER AND SET THE TOE IN, AND I NOTICED THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS WEARING ON THE OUTSIDE REAL BAD, AND IT WOULD NOT TURN TO THE STEERING STOP ON THE LEFT, HENCE A SHORT LEFT TURN RADIUS. I THOUGHT I HAD THE PITMAN ARM OFF CENTER, BUT IT WILL ONLY GO ON ONE WAY, AND WHEN I SET THE FRONT TIRES STREIGHT AHEAD, AND CENTER THE STEERING BOX, THE CENTER LINK AND PITMAN ARM DO NOT MATCH UP. IT APPEARS THAT I NEED A CNETER LINK APROX 1 1/2 INCHES LONGER. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG OR WHAT GIVES. HELP PLEASE.
