72 F100 in Charlotte

Post by wndsofchng06 »

Hey all! I just bought my 1972 F100 in Charlotte. Bought it with the hopes of trailering some of my other classics, but found out today these trucks are very light weight! Lighter than today's trucks! Amazing! Still love the truck though. 390 V8 and a 4spd with granny. Looks like it was originally a smaller (302, 360) truck with an auto trans that was later swapped....glad they kept it ford though!

:wel: from Georgia! Good looking truck. She may be light but she's tough! While I've never towed anything with mine, I have loaded her down with almost 2000 lbs of wet sand and made two 80 mile round trip loads with it. Oh yeah, I didn't say it was easy and the pucker factor on the mountain was high   but she did without breaking a sweat.

 Ouch! Good luck with that! Take some pics and write it up for those of us who don't know how to do it. It's what makes this site great. As I'm rebuilding mine I've found pics and tutorials of just about everything I've done right here. Thanks!

Thanks ! Finished the flywheel ring gear and posted about it in the "engine" section. Im excited to get the transmission back in! It really is in good shape and I got a great deal since the PO had gotten discouraged and just wanted it out of his yard!
