Howdy everyone..I just discovered your forum when I was searching for information on installing a Crown Victoria IFS into my truck. I recently gutted a P71 interceptor that I ran across for a good deal. I'm now trying to strategies my build plan and of course I have lots of answered questions. I have seen a couple of builds that folks have done but many are still in progress (an omen ?) It does a appear that there are two camps of thought about doing this to trucks like these with either a "positive" or "negative" spin. I guess this falls into the category of "laws of the universe" and "inevitability". For those who are on the "+" side of the equation, I would be interested to know if the owners of trucks with this swap done, feel it was worth it...... and if they used the 4.6 engine, are they happy with it used in these trucks. I saw the opportunity and closed both eyes and jumped since it was such a good deal. I have the entire drive train, engine, transmission, harness and IFS. It was a 2007 cruiser with just under 100,000 miles that was totaled and everything looks to be in very good condition '"as is". I'm planning on installing the whole thing if I can since everything will connect right up and be compatible. My question currently is about the rear end. I don't want a knuckle dragger so I'm curious to know how people have dealt with the rear end after dropping the front by 5". I could write a book of questions I have but for now I just wanted to say Hello and introduce myself. If anyone could point me in the right direction to research my project I would be much obliged.
FYI: I realize that I am essentially turning my F-250 into an F-100 long bed which is OK since I already own a 73 F-250 as well.

Welcome for northern California.
I suggest you post specific questions in the appropriate areas of the site, this will probably return better answers to your conversion questions.
Again, welcome. Kurt

Ray68 welcome from SoCal. You're way over my head but this site has some friggin' genius mechanics and a few hackers but we all share the same garage. Good Luck.
