Hey from the new guy
Hey Everybody. Im a new member from sw Missouri. I've checked out the site many times and finally joined. You all sound like the most helpful folks ever. Most of my family had really nice vehicles growing up but as a real youngster I have loved all my uncles and Dads Ford trucks.I have had about 6 and loved them and cared for them but have never tried what I'm up to this time. I have a '67 F250 4x4 lb, 352 or 360?, 4 speed with too many dents and too much body rust. I also have a '71 F250 2wd, camper spcl. no eng, automatic. I want the 2wd cab and bed on my 4x4 chassis. 1 to 10, how hard is this? Is the electrical a nightmare? Can we lift the cab with fenders attached? My friends all think I'm nuts but I know you all get it. Thank You in advance, Darrin

Re: Hey from the new guy
First of all welcome to the family glad you joined..now to you question if you gona swap the fenders and cab the electrical should be easy because most of the "hard" part of wiring is there. Compared to todays vehicles these truck have simple wiring, it is almost idiot proof because the harness only connect to its proper connection.. good luck..by the way check out my sons cab swap, I thought it was simple..

Re: Hey from the new guy
Welcome from WA Darrin.
If it hasn't been changed then your lumpy, crusty 1967 is going to be a 352.
Your project sounds like a 5/10 on the 'toughness' scale. Mainly for changing out things like the pedal assembly and various linkages. Nothing really difficult, but can be a tedious endurance test.
It is not an electrical nightmare so long as the 71 wiring is ok, since that is what you will be using (Mostly).
Lift the cab with fenders attached?? Cannot recommend doing that. It is much, much easier to remove all the various parts, clean and re-coat as needed and then reassemble on the new frame. And you will end up with a better finished product.
You are nuts... but so are we.
Your Welcome.
