1968 F100, 4x4

Post by 69SCJ »

Hey all,
I was selling some parts on CL, and met a great bumpside owner that told me about the site. I can already tell it's awesome!!!

Anyhow, I drove my 68 f100 home about 3.5 hours flawlessly about two months ago. Looked at a couple trucks that day, and belive it or not my wife also liked this the best. It was the most beat up, but still the best ridin' and lookin of em.

It has some bad rust that I have already started on so it might look worse to some now than when I got it, but it is progress. I hope it is one color by the end of April!!!!

When I drove it home:

Now:

Some of the reasons it looks the way it does:

Been doing a lot of rust repair!!!

Thank you in advance for the help I know many will be,
Tyler

Thanks all and sorry for the delay. My computer went down right after posting. The good thing about that is it left me time to work on the truck!!! I got it stripped to metal this past weekend and primed.

The last two weekends I got it stripped, primed, and painted. My welding work turned out stellar, but some of the older body damage not so good. I can live with it though. I'm going to have to block sand and shoot another coat of paint though. It was too thick so I'm goint to thin it for the next go round.

Thanks.

As much I love the way they look lifted I am not going to lift this at all. Well maybe if it ends up an extra truck some day. I use this one to work around the house and go to the beach so getting in/out easy and accessing the bed is high priority. I had to cut the front fenders a little to fit the 33's which work good for the beach sand.

Thanks.

Inlet Beach is up in the Panhandle of FL just East of Panama City Beach.

Here is a teaser shot after a lot of block/wet sanding and another two coats of black:

Gives an idea of black, flat black , and red accent theme.
