Hello I am a father of three and a gearhead I have built several cars in the past but never a truck and generally I am a Mopar guy but love the look of old Ford trucks I have just got a 72 Ford and have started the build and hopefully this forum will be a great resource for info . I love forums and the knowledge you can find on them when your stuck is great. I am a very easy going guy and am excited to start seeing progress on my new truck a 72 f250 I got for 600
I do have one question blue oval nation give me the skinnie on the Fe motor should I keep it ? Or find. Different powerplant
Thanks guys

Hello from the Central Coast of California.
As far as the FE, what are you going to do with the truck?

FE is a good motor. I little expensive to build but bomb proof when done right. You gotta spend A LOT more per HP than a small block Chevy of even a Dodge.
If I was making a tow rig, I'd be looking at an easily swappable 460 with a C-6 or 4 speed. If I was inclined to go diesel, there are a lot of guys putting Cummins engines in with great success.
Search 6bt or Cummins in "project updates"

Re: hello from WA
Hello from WA! Guessing your FE is a 390? If good you could stroke it up to 445 for monster torque or stroke it to 416 for a nice all around engine.. or you could leave it a 390 and it's still very nice.
Which side of the state are you on?
Got a 440 & A727 sitting here, making fun of their Moparbishi kid haulin' stable mates... waiting for a project.
